Todi is blooming again 27th-29th May 2011-Tribute to Japan
From the 27th to the 29th May 2011, the beautiful historical centre of Todi is hosting the fourth edition of “Todi Fiorita”, national exhibition of Flower Gardening organized by the Association “Verde Todi”, in collaboration with the City Hall and under the patronage of Italian Minister of Agriculture.
The historical places of our town will be the locations of blooming gardens, scents and essences which will follow the visitors in different itineries.
In honour of Japan and its famous Art of Gardening, this year the beautiful Cloister of Lucrezie will host a Japanese Garden inspired to this ancient art together with a demonstration of Ikebana.
The gardening fair with exhibitors from Umbria and Italy - located in Piazza del Popolo - is open on:
27th May 2011: from 3PM to 8PM
28th/29th May 2011: from 10AM to 8PM
On Saturday 28th May, Todi Fiorita is also offering the visitors guided visits, concerts and events:
9AM Guided visit “The Art of the Monasteries” (lenght 2 hours 9AM-11AM)
A guided tour along Quartiere Borgo: Piazza Rubea - Church of San Francesco and the fresco “Il Purgatorio di San Patrizio” painted in 1346 - Church of SS. Annunziata and the Monastery
(visit held also on the 29th)
11AM Guided visit “In giro per orti e giardini privati”(lenght 1h and ½ 11AM-12,30AM), guided tour to private gardens in Porta Fratta Quarter.
